Lash Growth Serums are not all the same

Long, fluffy lashes are in. If doing extensions is not your thing or doesn’t work for you, a lash growth serum may be the way to go.

Whether you have short, sparse or damaged lashes a good lash serum can work wonders in repairing and growing your natural lashes.

Lash growth serum were accidentally discovered when patients being treated with bimatoprost (a medication for glaucoma) developed long, beautiful lashes. Besides being an off-brand use, it is a medication and it does come with potential side effects such as hyperpigmentation or darkening of the eyelid and iris (colored part of the eye). Boo. The culprit ingredient, prostaglandin analog, is used in most lash growth serums including Latisse, Careprost, and others.

Many lash growth serums are actually conditioners or ‘enhancers’ which conditions the lash hairs which in turn helps them grow. Although, they may not contain protaglandin, they may have other ingredients that can be problematic such as biotin, keratin and panthenol.

Our favorite lash serum is Sheeky Lash ™ because it does not contain any harmful ingredients and will not cause eye irritation, eye inflammation, eye redness, iris color change, macular edema, or low intraoccular pressure. It’s 100% natural and hypoallergenic and safe and effective.

For best results, it is recommended to use lash serums twice a day for 6-8 weeks to allow your lashes enough time to grow. Of course, if you stop using the serum, your lashes will go back to their old habits and regular growth patterns for length and volume.
